Q. How can I get by taxi from Schiphol Airport to Medemlbik Regatta centre.
There are two options to book a taxi or special bus suited for wheelchairs:
Option 1.
You can send an e-mail to : sttintake@connexxion.nl to make reservations with the Schiphol Travel Taxi.
Before you make a reservation they need the next details:
Name
Date
Arrival time
Flightnumber
Adress where to go : Medemblik Regattacenter, Vooroever 3, 1671 SG Medemblik
Wheelchair or not:
And if you go back they need the same details but visa versa.
If there’s a wheelchaire going with, it’s only possible to book a private taxi, because they have special wheelchaire buses.
If you want to book, you can make a reservation 24hours before the plane is landing at the airport. We hope to have you informed adequately. Q: What kind of mooring accessories should we bring ourselves?
A: All competitors should provide their own moaring lines, fenders and if necessary, transfer slings.
Q: Is the lodging reservation final when I have filled in the pre-housing form?
A: No. The housing committee will first try to allocate the lodging facilities taking into account everyones special requests. After that you will be contacted by the bungalow park directly to finalize the booking & arrange payment directly to them.
Q: Is there any public transportation from Schiphol Airport to Medemblik?
A: There are direct trains from Schiphol Airport to Hoorn. (approx 45 mins) From Hoorn there is a bus to Medemblik.(approx 30 mins). See planner
Q: Is there transportation from the lodging to the venue area and back?
A: Transfer busses will be arranged for that purpose by the organisers.
Q: Is there a Camping near the venue?
A: There are some mini campsites nearby. For more information contact Medemblik Tourist Information, www.vvvmedemblik.nl (English website)
Q: Are there hotels near the Venue

Q: Is there a possibility to have a trainingcamp some weeks before?
A: Yes it will of course be possible for all participants to train shortly before the event. Those who are interested to organize a training camp before July can file their request to the Watersportverbond who will be able to assist further. Participants should arrange their own lodging during trainingcamps since the regatta centre offers no lodging facilities. For the use of facilities during training camps costs will be charged for rental of facilities and equipment. Information about costs can be found here: www.watersportverbond.nl

Q: Can we bring the boat earlier and leave it later than the actual dates of the world’s ? what are the costs per day?

Q: Where can be found details for local chandleries and easy access to sail-maker?
A: There is a chandler at the Medemblik Regattacentre.

Q: Will there be container storage on site at the venue?
A: Yes there will be a container storage
Q: Will there be a crane available to unload containers to the ground, and then again for pack out at the end of the regatta?
A: There are no crane facilities for unloading or loading the transport containers. Transporters should be equipped with their own un/up-loading system. The transport containers can be delivered on 1st or 2nd July 2010. Please inform us by mail (secr@ifdsworlds2010.com) about the arrival date.
